2008

December 27, 2008

The holiday festivities continued today at Auntie Nicole and Uncle Mark's house.  Everyone gathered to visit, eat more food and play more games.  Later in the evening we moved the celebration to my house so I could go to bed.  Board games and Blackjack continued far into the night.

December 25, 2008

Today was my first Christmas and I celebrated in style.  I got Mommy up early for breakfast then Daddy joined us around the tree.  We all opened our gifts and took lots of pictures.  In the early afternoon we drove up to Auntie A's for Christmas Dinner with my Georgia family.  After the meal, everyone exchanged more gifts and we capped off the night with a game of Trivial Pursuit.  We had so much fun.

December 24, 2008

Today we celebrated Christmas Eve at our house.  My Nonna flew in from Maryland to spend the holiday with everyone.  The men in the family cooked dinner for the girls while my Mommy and aunties exchanged stockings with each other.

December 21, 2008

Did some last minute shopping this morning with Mommy then spent the afternoon watching football with Daddy.  Only a couple of more days before my first Christmas.  Nonna is coming into town on Tuesday and I can't wait to see her.

December 20, 2008

Auntie Nickie and I spent the morning together then she dropped me off at Auntie Jess and Sams for the afternoon.  I played with cousin Lilia for a while before Mommy and Daddy got back from their overnight trip.  I sure missed them.

December 19, 2008

Mommy and Daddy drove to Chattanooga, TN today to watch the Montana Grizzlies play a football game and then spend the night.  So Auntie Nickie and Uncle Mark picked me up at school and  stayed with me overnight at my house.  We had so much fun.  It was the first time I had been away from my parents for a night and they watched over me really well.  I sure love them both.

December 13, 2008

Today was my seven month birthday.  Mommy and I finished up our Christmas shopping while Daddy did some work around the yard.

December 8, 2008

Mommy had to get up early today to fly to Buffalo, NY, for business so Daddy dropped me off and picked me up from school.  Mommy was able to catch an earlier flight home, though, and was back at the house in time to put me to bed.  Daddy and me were both glad to see her.

December 6, 2008

Mommy and I went Christmas shopping today.  Daddy stayed at home and put up the tree while watching his Grizzlies play on TV.  Daddy also took a short video of me in front of the fire.  It's posted at the bottom of the Photos page if you want to see it.

November 28, 2008

I went "Black Friday" shopping with Mommy today.  Wow, lots of people out and about.  In the afternoon we helped Auntie Adrienne move into her new house.  I'm so excited for her and my cousins Nia and Tessa.  Their new house is gorgeous.

November 27, 2008

Celebrated Thanksgiving with my Georgia family at Auntie Nicki and Uncle Mark's house.  It was so much fun.  I tried sweet potatoes for the first time today and ate a whole jar at one sitting!  I also got to play with cousin Lilia, which is always a blast.  We spent the rest of the day watching football, playing games and oh yes, eating.  Auntie Nicki and Uncle Mark's house looked beautiful and they were such good hosts.

November 26, 2008

Yea!!  Went to the doctor again today and was told my ear infection was much better and had just about cleared up.  That was great news.  So to celebrate, the doctor game me my six-month shots.  It was OK, though.  I preferred them to having to see an ENT specialist.

November 22, 2008

All of my Atlanta family spent the day at Auntie Jessie and Sam's house.  We made cookies for Thanksgiving, had a belated birthday dinner and cake for Daddy and played games.  We got home really late, but as always had a lot of fun.

November 20, 2008

Today I went in for my third straight day of antibiotic shots for an ear infection.  I've had this infection for several weeks now and three other bouts of oral medications weren't working so my doctor thought we'd try one last thing and if this doesn't work I'm gonna have to go see a pediatric Ear, Nose and Throat specialist.  Keep your fingers crossed for me.  I'll know more next week.

November 19, 2008

Today was Daddy's birthday and I helped Mommy wrap his presents.  He was in St Louis on business all day but flew back home later in the evening to spend it with us.  We really appreciated having him home.

November 13, 2008

Today was my six month birthday.  Mommy took pictures to commemorate the occasion. Check out the Photos page to see one.  Also, at the bottom of that page is a video of me.  Check it out!

November 11, 2008

Daddy and Mommy went to a football officials dinner tonight so Auntie Nickie and Uncle Mark baby sat for the evening.  They did an excellent job and I can't wait to have them back again.

November 9, 2008

I liked my rice cereal so much over the last week that Mommy and Daddy tried oatmeal with me today.  It was really good, too.  Can't wait to see what next week brings me.

November 8, 2008

My great aunt Carole and Uncle Doug are in town this weekend to visit.  They are staying with us and I really enjoy having them around.  Today we went to Cousin Nia and Tessa's soccer game, had dinner at an Italian restaurant nearby then came back to the house to visit and watch the Boston College vs Notre Dame game.

November 1, 2008

Today I had my first bite of cereal.  The doctor told us at my last appointment that I'm ready to start trying solid foods so this morning Mommy and Daddy fed me some rice cereal.  I took right to it (though I did get a little messy)!  I had a number of spoonfuls then washed it down with a bottle.  Yea Me!

October 31, 2008

Tonight Mommy put my Halloween costume back on me so I could help her pass out candy to the Trick-or-Treaters.  Boy did a lot of kids come to our door.  Mommy thought we might run out of candy.  We had a lot of fun.

October 30. 2008

Had another doctor's appointment today.  Hoping to here that my right ear infection has cleared up.  Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.  So my doctor put me on a different antibiotic in hopes that will take care of it.  Keep your fingers crossed.

October 26, 2008

My Georgia family all came to a big neighborhood Halloween party at Auntie A's today.  Mommy and Daddy dressed me up in a homemade skunk outfit....and I won best costume for my age group!  Everyone said I looked so cute.

October 22, 2008

Mommy has been in Los Angeles the past few days on business so Daddy and I have been hanging out together.  We can't wait for her to get home tonight.  We miss her soooo much.

October 15, 2008

Today Mommy, Daddy and I went to my school's Fall Carnival.  They had choo choo train rides, cake walks, a face painting booth and a big dome where kids could jump around.  It was a lot of fun.  I love to watch other kids play.

October 13, 2008

Today was my five-month birthday.  We celebrated with leftover birthday cake from Mommy's celebration on Saturday.

October 11, 2008

My entire Georgia family came over to the house today.  We had a big garage sale that everyone participated in, then we celebrated Mommy's birthday in the afternoon.  Daddy made homemade pizzas and cooked them on the BBQ grill.  We also had birthday cake with lots of candles.  We ended the evening playing board games around the kitchen table.

October 8, 2008

Mommy and Daddy were commenting today on how much my vocal skills have expanded in the last week or so.  I've gone from just "cooing" to making"Da Da" and "Ga Ga" sounds.  I'm really starting to accent consonants now.

October 6, 2008

Went back to the doctor today to get my four-month old shots (three weeks late).  Doctor said I still have a little ear infection so she put me on a different antibiotic.

September 27, 2008

Mommy and me took a drive to watch cousin Nia and Tessa play soccer while Daddy stayed home to watch his Grizzlies play football.  Later in the evening, Auntie Jessie, Auntie Nickie and Uncle Mark came over and we played games and watched college football.

September 21, 2008

Daddy's good friend Ansumana was in town this weekend from Minneapolis.  The two of them played golf this morning then came over to the house to watch the Ryder Cup on TV.  Afterwards we all had a big dinner together.

September 20, 2008

Mommy and me went to watch cousin Nia and Tessa play soccer today.  That was a lot of fun.  They are both really good.  We then went over to Auntie Nickie's home for a cookout and to play games.  Daddy was officiating a football game in South Carolina and couldn't join us.  We sure missed him.

September 16, 2008

Had my fourth month doctor's appointment today.  To quote the McFadden and Whitehead classic from 1979, there "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now".  I'm in the 90th percentile or above in height, weight and head circumference.  I'm even bigger than two nine month olds in my daycare.  Not sure where all this is coming from, cuz Mommy and Daddy sure aren't big people, but I'm not complaining.  I was supposed to get some vaccinations today as well, but the doctor found a small ear infection so she postponed that for another couple of weeks while I take some antibiotics.  But it's all good.  And I'm still eating and sleeping really well.

September 13, 2008

Today was my four month birthday.  Mommy, Daddy and me spent the afternoon doing some shopping around town.  Auntie Nickie and Uncle Mark came over later in the day and babysat me for a few hours while Mommy and Daddy went out to dinner together.

September 10, 2008

Pretty slow week thus far.  I did catch another cold, though, so that has got me out of sorts a bit.  But Mommy and Daddy have been taking extra special care of me, which helps a lot.  I'm hoping to be over it by the time the weekend rolls around.

September 4, 2008

I rolled over from my belly to my back for the first time today.  Mommy got some pictures of the momentous occasion.  Lots of excitement around the house about that.

September 2, 2008

I'm becoming more and more vocal every day.  Mommy calls me a chatterbox.  Oftentimes in the morning I'll wake up and just lay there for a while and talk to myself before Mommy and Daddy get me up to start the day.

August 30, 3008

Mommy and I celebrated Labor Day at Auntie A's with my Georgia aunts and uncle.  It was a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun playing games and visiting.  Daddy was officiating a college football game and couldn't join us but he was there in spirit.

August 28, 2008

Mommy had to travel out of town on business today, so Daddy picked me up from school.  We had fun when we got home.  I've started laughing now and I can even reach out and grab objects I see in front of me.  Mommy and Daddy are really proud of that.  Mommy will be home tomorrow night late, and Daddy will be officiating a football game, so Auntie Jessie is picking me up from school.  Daddy will be gone all day Saturday, too, working a ball game in South Carolina.  At least it is a long weekend so the whole family will be together all day Sunday and Monday.

August 23, 2008

Daddy took me for a walk around the neighborhood today.  He carried me in a "front pack" which allowed me to look all around while we walked.  I really liked it.  And Uncle Mark and Auntie Nickie came over this evening for a pasta dinner and to play games.

August 21, 2008

It's been a very quiet week.  Pretty much the same routine for me everyday.  Wake up around 7:00am, have breakfast, get dressed, be at "school" from 8:00am - 5:00pm, come home, have dinner, take a bath, go to bed around 7:00pm.  I am over my cold, though, so that is good.

August 15, 2008

Daddy and Mommy coaxed my first laugh out of me today.  OK, it was more like a giggle, but it was still a momentous occasion around the house afterwards.

August 13, 2008

Today was my three month birthday.  I'm still growing like a weed, Mommy says.  The two of us enjoyed some good girl time the last few days while Daddy was out of town on business.  He got home tonight, though, just in time to feed me dinner before putting me to bed.  We were both very happy to see him.

August 10, 2008

I spent the afternoon over at cousin Lilia's house.  Today was her 1st birthday party and it just happened to be Auntie Nickie's birthday as well.  My whole Georgia family celebrated together with homemade lasagna and lots of birthday cake.  And Daddy is off to Kansas City tomorrow for business so Mommy gets to take care of me for the next couple of days.  I'll know she'll do an awesome job.

August 8, 2008

My day care was closed today because of staff meetings so Auntie Jessie came over to my house and baby sat me.  I always love it when she takes care of me.

August 6, 2008

Mommy has been in Charlotte, NC, for the last couple of days on business and Daddy has been taking care of me.  We have fun hanging out together but we really miss Mommy.  She will be home tonight, however, and we are both excited to see her.

August 3, 2008

We spent the afternoon over and Uncle Mark and Auntie Nickie's new home.  Daddy helped paint some walls while Mommy supervised.  Auntie Jessie was helping as well.  Their house is very nice and I can't wait to go back again.

August 2, 2008

Our family ventured out of the house today to do some shopping.  We went to a warehouse store for a few things then to Target to pick up a birthday gift and some things for Daddy.

August 1, 2008

Mommy's friends Jennifer and Kim came by to visit this evening.  I got to spend time with each of them and they sure are nice.  Mommy has some good friends.

July 27, 2008

Nonna spent the night with us last night and she watched me all afternoon today while Mommy and Daddy snuck away for lunch and to go see the new Batman movie.  I also seem to have caught a little cold, cuz I've been sniffling most the day.  Daddy may set the humidifier up in my room tonight to help me breath a little easier.

July 26, 2008

My Georgia family, including Nonna, came over to the house around lunch time and we spent the day together.  We had dinner, played games and spent a lot of time visiting.  Daddy got home late this evening as well, and he came up and fed me a late dinner after he arrived.  I sure missed him.

July 24, 2008

Daddy left today for a three-day college football official's clinic in North Carolina so after Mommy picked me up from day care it was just us girls at the house.  And Nonna flew in from Maryland this evening so I'll get to spend some wonderful time with her this upcoming weekend, too.

July 22, 2008

Auntie Jessie stayed home with me all day today while Daddy went to work.  She took great care of me.  And Mommy came home from her trip this evening.  Both Daddy and I were very happy to see her.  We missed her.

July 21, 2008

Auntie Jessie came over this morning to babysit me all day.  She was awesome and we had a great time hanging out.  Daddy worked from home in his office, too, just in case she had any questions, but Auntie Jessie was great.  She is coming over tomorrow to watch me again.  I sure love her.  And Mommy will be home in the evening and I can't wait to give her lots of hugs and kisses.

July 20, 2008

Mommy left this morning for a three-day conference in Nashville so I got to spend the entire day with Daddy.  It was my first time being away from Mommy for more than a couple of hours, and it was hard for both me and her to say goodbye, but Daddy took great care of me all day.  He even brought our webcam enabled laptop up to my bedroom this evening so Mommy could log in from her hotel room and see and talk to us online for bath time.  That really made everyone feel a lot better.

July 18, 2008

Mommy took me in for my two month checkup today.  The bads news about the visit was that I received five vaccinations (two in each leg and one orally).  I have to admit I cried a little, but afterwards Mommy picked me up and I settled right down.  The good news is that I'm continuing to grow as a normal baby should.  For height, weight and head circumference I'm in the 90th, 75th and 75th percentile, respectively (I now weigh 11 lbs 12 oz and am 23 1/2 inches long).

July 17, 2008

Today I spent a couple of hours at the daycare I'm going to attend.  It is right across the street from where Mommy works, which is nice. This was my first visit and I was mainly there to begin getting used to everyone and vice versa.  Everything went fine, though Mommy was sad to leave me.

July 15, 2008

Most of the Georgia girls spent a portion of the day at a local water fountain.  While my Aunties, Gram and Mommy visited, I watched my cousins Nia and Tessa play in the water.  Everyone then went to lunch at Cincos, a Mexican restaurant not to far from my house.  That was fun.

July 13, 2008

Today is my two month birthday.  To celebrate we took a drive up to Auntie Adrienne's for the day.  She made a wonderful dinner for all of us.

July 12, 2008

Everyone spent the day at Auntie Sammie and Jessies.  The cousins all played in the pool while the grown ups made big batches of gnocchi in the kitchen.  Later we played cards and dice games and ended a long and fun day with several games of Password.

July 11, 2008

My great grandma Fran (Grammie) and great aunt Karen flew in from Boston today!  I was so excited to meet them.  They are going to spend almost a week in Atlanta visiting all their Georgia relatives.  Everyone is very happy they are here and we all look forward to spending a lot of time with them before they have to head home, especially me.

July 9, 2008

Mommy and I took a trip to the grocery store today and on the way back decided to stop in at Checkfree, her employer, for a visit.  I was well-behaved, sleeping most the time, and everyone there just loved me.

July 6, 2008

Rather uneventful weekend.  Daddy was busy working on a bunch of projects around the house, so Mommy and me just hung out.  We watched some of the Wimbledon matches, enjoyed some coffee and the newspaper on the deck, watched a couple of Red Sox vs Yankees games.

July 5, 2008

Pretty hot day today so we stayed inside for the most part.  Daddy wanted me to mention that I've been sleeping really well for the past week.  He puts me to bed around 7:30pm and I haven't been waking up until around 6:00am the next morning.  I think Mommy and Daddy are really proud of me for that.

July 4, 2008

Spent the 4th of July over at Auntie Jessie and Auntie Sams house.  We had all kinds of good food and Mommy made a key lime pie for dessert.  Of course, the grown ups also played games and Daddy bought fireworks for all to enjoy.  I really enjoyed my first celebration of America's birth.

June 28, 2008

I took my first official bathtub bath today.  I must say, it was absolutely heavenly.  I'd loved to have stayed in the water longer, but Mommy told me it was time for dinner  so I had to get out.  Daddy weighed me today as well.  I'm up to 10 pounds.  I think I went through another growth spurt this past week.  Mommy says it's almost time to change to the next largest diaper.

June 27, 2008

Uncle  Mark and Auntie Nicki stopped by this evening.  They are buying a house about one mile from my home and had just come from the inspection.  I'm so excited they'll be so close to us!  We celebrated with drinks and dinner, then of course I went to bed while the rest of the foursome played board games.

June 24, 2008

A busy day around here.  Today I turned six weeks old and to celebrate Mommy and Daddy took me to the doctor for a checkup.  I came away with flying colors.  For height, weight and head circumference I'm in the 50th, 50th and 75th percentile, respectively (I now weigh 9 lbs 8 oz and am 21 1/2 inches long).  After my visit, Daddy, Papa Gramma and I drove Mommy to her doctor's appointment.  While she was there, Daddy drove us by the Federal Reserve Bank building where he works.  That was neat.  And when we went back to pick up Mommy, we found out that like me, she came away with a clean bill of health as well.  After that had to take Papa and Gramma to the airport.  They were flying back to Montana after a nice long visit.  We were all sad that they had to leave and I can't wait to see them again soon.

June 23, 2008

I smiled for the first time today!  Papa was making funny sounds at me and it just happened.  Then to make sure it wasn't just a fluke I did it a few more times.  Judging by the smiles it put on Mommy, Daddy, Papa and Grammas faces, I think it was a welcome sight.

June 22, 2008

Mommy and Daddy rode the train with Gramma and Papa to an Atlanta Braves baseball game this afternoon.  They sat right behind home plate and had a great time.  It was also the first time they had been away from me for an extended period of time.  They were both nervous about leaving me, but Aunties Nickie and Sam and cousin Lilia came over and babysat and took excellent care of me.

June 21, 2008

Hot and humid day here in Atlanta.  My Georgia family all came over in the afternoon to meet Gramma and Papa and have a BBQ.  Daddy and Uncle Mark grilled chicken, salmon, burgers and hot dogs.  Gramma made a nice pasta salad and Auntie's Adrienne and Sammie brought fruit and brownies.

June 20, 2008

The first day of summer is here.  Gramma did some more sewing while the men continued working on their long To Do list around the house.  Us three girls took a late afternoon trip to Target to pick up some things.  After homemade pizza and ice cream on the deck, we ended the evening watching fireflys  in the backyard.  We all had a wonderful day.

June 19, 2008

Gramma and Papa are here!  I had a nice long visit with them (in between my feedings and naps, of course).   While Mommy rode herd over me, Gramma made me a new swaddle blanket and Papa and Daddy worked on a bunch of projects around the house.

June 18, 2008

Helped mom bake some cookies today.  We also cleaned the house a little.  Daddy picked up Gramma and Papa from the airport later in the evening.  By the time they arrived home around midnight I was already sleeping.  I'm so excited to meet them tomorrow.

June 15, 2008

I had a wonderful Father's Day with Daddy.  We all slept in late, then had a big breakfast.  Daddy then ran a few errands while Mommy and I baked him a pie for his special day.  Later that afternoon we all watched the US Open golf tournament together.  The whole family cheered for Tiger Woods.

June 14, 2008

Mommy, Daddy and I helped Auntie Sammy move into her now house today.  Auntie Adrienne, Nickie and Uncle Mark helped as well.  We all had a lot of fun.  Her new place is not too far from either Auntie A's or our home.  Auntie Jessie will be here from Boston in a couple of weeks and moving in with Auntie Sammy.  Yea!!

June 8, 2008

A fairly quiet weekend.  My Georgia family came over for a couple of hours on Saturday afternoon to visit and eat dinner.  And we turned the TV on to see the Belmont horse race.  Daddy and Papa "watched" it together over the phone.  Sunday we just hung out at the house and tried to stay cool.  Mommy says I'm starting to hold my head up by myself.  She seemed pretty excited about that.

June 6, 2008

This was a pretty uneventful week.   It has been so hot that I've stayed inside pretty much every day, although today Mommy and I took a car ride to the mall to pick up a few things for the house.  Oh, and evidently I've been sleeping pretty well at night.  At least that's what Daddy tells me.  He says for the past two weeks I've been averaging about 5 hours of uninterrupted shut eye a night.   Why he smiles when he says that I have no idea.

June 1, 2008

My parents and I took a drive up to Auntie A's house this afternoon.  Spent the day visiting with my Georgia cousins.   We stopped at Lowes on the way home to buy some bark mulch.  Daddy's been working hard on the flower and shrub beds around the yard and needed a few bags.

May 31, 2008

Mommy says I've officially entered a growth spurt.  Suddenly over the last couple of days I've developed this insatiable appetite.  I just can't seem to get enough milk.  And of course, I let my parents know right away that I'm hungry...as only I can do.  After breakfast the whole family ventured out around town looking for a new patio set for the back porch.  Took us the better part of the afternoon, but we finally found one we liked.  Daddy finished putting it together just in time for a dinner of homemade pizza.

May 29, 2008

I've received some very nice birthday gifts over the last several days and want to thank all of my friends and relatives who've sent them down to me.  I can't wait to try them all on.  I'm also anxious to start playing with my new Webkins black pony that my Alaska cousins gave me.  I spend every day staring at her on the mantle (with Mommies help, of course) and dream of the day I'll be able to play with her on the computer.

May 27, 2008

Took a trip into the city today.  Mommy had a doctor's appointment and I went along for the ride.  I couldn't help but be a bit fussy in the office, but I'm sure I'm not the first crying baby they've seen there.  Doctor said Mommy is recovering nicely from her surgery.

May 26, 2008

Today I took a long walk to the park with Mommy and Daddy.  Sun felt really good.  I also helped plant flowers in clay pots all of my Montana and Georgia cousins decorated for our deck and front step.  That was fun.  I also found out today that my Gramma and Papa from Montana will be coming to visit me June 18.  I am so excited to meet them.  Hope Gramma brings lots of fabric with her so she can sew me some new clothes.

May 24, 2008

My Georgia family all came over to my house today to celebrate an early Memorial Day.  We grilled steak on the back deck and also had burgers, hot dogs, pasta salad, corn on the cob, watermelon, apple pie and ice cream.  Yum yum.

May 22, 2008

Mommy took Nonna to the train today so she could get to the airport to catch her flight back to Maryland.  It was very special of her to come spend a week with me and help Mommy and Daddy as they adjusted to my presence.  She promised to be back soon and I'm counting on it.  Last couple of days we've all been working hard to establish a routine around the house.  I think we are making great progress, at least the bags under my parents eyes (or lack thereof) seems to indicate they are getting more sleep now.

May 20, 2008

Had my second doctor's visit this morning.  Doc said everything looks great and, given that, I don't have to come back in for another month.  Yippee!  The doctor weighed me, too, and said I'm just two ounces short of my original birth weight, which as I understand it usually doesn't take place for two weeks.  So that means I'm eating well, I suppose.  But looking in the mirror, I don't seem to be packing any extra weight, though my cheeks are a bit chubby.  Daddy's friend Megan in Montana says I'm a cross between a Bean (short and chubby) and Peanut (long and lean)...she calls me a Bean-Nut.  That Meg, she's a funny one.

May 19, 2008

I took my first field trip today....to Target.  Mommy and Nonna had to get some things and I came along for the ride.  To be totally honest, I don't remember much about it, since it's kinda tough to see things with your eyes closed.  But it must have been a good trip, given all the stuff those two brought home with them.  And Nonna made bean burritos for us for dinner.  Other than that it was a pretty slow news day around here.

 May 18, 2008

This morning after breakfast Daddy introduced me to Meet The Press.  I expect that show will become a staple of my Sunday mornings.  Daddy has also warned me a big dose of NPR is in my future, too.  Given all that, I suppose in the future no one will ever be able to accuse me of not being worldly.  Later in the afternoon we all sat down and watched the Boston Celtics play.  Daddy said my Uncle Mark from Montana (as well as most of my relatives on Mommy's side of the family) is a big fan and that we needed to support the team.  Sounded good to me.  My day ended with Mommy and Daddy taking me for a walk around the neighborhood.

May 17, 2008

Made my first visit to the pediatrician today.  She checked my weight to make sure I was getting enough to eat, listened to my heart, looked in my ears, tested my reflexes, etc.  Came out of there with a clean bill of health.  Most of the Georgia clan came over to visit, too.  Auntie Nickie made us all a nice lasagna lunch, then we sat around for a couple of hours playing Rock Band.  Uncle Mark is a really good drummer, Auntie Jessie sure knows how to pick a guitar and I loved hearing Auntie Nickie sing.  Auntie Sammy and Daddy even got on stage and played a song or two.  Auntie Jessie was supposed to fly back home to Boston today, but was having so much fun she got a late start to the airport and actually missed her plane, but luckily there was one other flight leaving later in the evening and she was able to catch that one home.  I spent pretty much the rest of the day sleeping (surprise, surprise).

May 16, 2008

Happy Happy, Joy Joy!   My doctor gave Mommy and Daddy the OK to take me home today.  And about time, I must say.  My room at the hospital was getting a bit confining for this growing girl.  Daddy had to go to work the first half of the day to give a presentation to his Bank's president, but was back in the early afternoon to get Mommy and me packed up and loaded into our UMdx (that's what Daddy calls his car - goofy, huh?).  The trip home in rush hour traffic went real quick, considering I took a little nap during the ride.  Oh well.  And I really like my new home.  There are lots of rooms for me to explore over the coming months.  Wasn't too long after we got home that all my Georgia Aunts and cousins came by, along with my Nonna.  We celebrated not only my homecoming but cousin Tessa's sixth birthday.  It was really fun.

Auntie Adrienne and Auntie Jessie stopped by this morning for their first visit.  Jessie flew down from Massachusetts last night.  She's moving to Atlanta in June and will also be doing some house hunting while in town.  And my Nonna flew down from Maryland this afternoon to spend the next week with me.  It will be really great getting to know her.  Oh, and my doctor stopped by this afternoon and said I may get to go home tomorrow.  I'm not sure where home is exactly, but I'm excited to see it.

Day two was a pretty good day.  Although I was poked and prodded a bit by the nurses, I'm sure I'm better off for it.  Mommy and Daddy went for a long walk in the hallways this afternoon.  Mommy is still sore from the surgery and the exercise was good for her muscles.  And I'm really starting to catch on to this breastfeeding thing.  I like the fact it's on demand.  Pretty cool.

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday Dear Rhiannon, Happy Birthday to me! My first day on earth sure started off with a bang.  One minute I'm doing laps in a nice warm pool and the next thing I know "BAM" I'm lying naked freezing my tush off in front of a bunch of strangers hiding behind masks.  But before I knew it, mom had me in her arms and all was right with the world.  I'm beginning to think this might be a fun ride after all.  And I had my first visitors today.  Auntie Nickie, Uncle Mark, Auntie Sam and her daughter (and my new cousin) Lilia stopped by and brought me flowers.  It was wonderful meeting them.

Anyway, I'm pretty tired today, so I'll try and write more tomorrow.
