The Georgia family gathered at the Granger household this afternoon for the traditional feast of chicken cutlets and stuffed artichokes. The group played games and enjoyed desserts as well.
December 25, 2016
Today was Christmas and the girls were up bright and early, waking mom and dad to come see what Santa had delivered overnight. The family spent the morning opening gifts and enjoying their time together. Later in the afternoon the entire GA family arrived to celebrate Christmas. More gifts were exchanged and opened and a wonderful meal of beef and chicken was served. Plenty of desserts were also enjoyed, as well as music and dance parties.

The Misner family hosted Christmas Eve dinner for the entire Georgia family. Auntie A and Uncle Tracy made dinner and the Aunts and kids all opened gifts then played games.

Nonna and Opa are in town for the holidays and today Opa held a “pie making 101” class at the Clary house for all the Georgia family children. It was a great event and the kids thoroughly enjoyed learning to make their own small pies.

Both girls held Christmas parties at their schools today. Mom attended Rhiannon’s while both parents attended Evangeline’s.

The third cheer competition of the year was held today and like the first three, Rhiannon’s team came away with the win. This was the State competition and with the win the girls will head to Orlando, FL, in early January to compete in the National event.

Rhiannon lost her eighth tooth today. Her third-grade class also took a field trip to the state capitol then afterwards visited the infamous Varsity restaurant in downtown Atlanta for lunch.

Rhiannon’s cheer team held a community service event today. The girls all donated used clothing to a local thrift store then helped the owners sort the clothing for eventual dispersion to those in need.

Uncle Ken, Aunt Karen and Gram flew down from Boston to spend the holidays with their Georgia family. Over the long weekend, each local family hosted an evening, with the Grangers holding Thanksgiving at their home. It was great having extended family down for the weekend and all were sad when they departed.

Today was dad’s birthday and the children, along with mom, helped him celebrate with dinner, cake, presents and lots of love.

Today at Evangeline’s school the children dressed in their best pilgrim outfits and sang and danced for their parents. They also enjoyed a Thanksgiving Day meal put on by the school complete with all the traditional foods for the holiday.

Rhiannon’s school held a Thanksgiving Day program today and the 3rd graders dressed in their best Oktoberfest garments and danced to traditional German folk music.

Aunt Carol and Uncle Doug her in town over the weekend to visit their Georgia family. The families took turns hosting dinners throughout their stay and had a great time catching up with them.

Rhiannon’s cheer team participated in their second meet of the year and again, they came away with the first place trophy. The parents are starting to feel this team may have the makings of something special are looking forward to the remaining three meets.

For Halloween, Rhiannon borrowed her book character outfit and dressed as a Dalmatian and Evangeline went as her favorite character from the movie Descendants. Not surprisingly, that character’s name is also Evie.

Today was Parent – Teacher conference at Rhiannon’s school. Her teacher had glowing things to say about her and mom and dad are so proud of her efforts in the classroom.

Rhiannon participated in her school’s Book Character Parade this morning. She dressed as a Dalmatian from the book 101 Dalmatians.

Today mom and dad took his girls to the neighborhood’s Fall Festival. While the kids played games and enjoyed each other's company, mom and dad watched took pictures.

Rhiannon is participating on a first-year competitive cheer team and today was their inaugural meet. To all the parents surprise, the team not only won their age group but also the grand champion medal as well. Everyone was so proud of the girls.

The Homecoming Hoedown was held today at Rhiannon's school. The entire student body, K - 12, participated on the oval. Fun, games, food and music were on the agenda. Both Clary girls had a great time playing.

Rhiannon and her neighborhood friend Hannah built a lemonade stand today and sold cookies and drink on the corner outside the house. Between the two girls they made nearly $60, helping to stuff their piggy banks.

Today the kids and dad helped mom celebrate her birthday. Dad made dinner and a cake and the kids sang Happy Birthday and presented her with presents.

Rhiannon and Evangeline both attended a “ninja” themed birthday party for cousin Jackson and his friend Graham. Graham’s sister Hadley is a former classmate of Rhiannon’s and they had fun catching up.

Rhiannon was invited to visit the Atlanta Zoo today with her friend from down the street and fellow classmate, Hannah. It was her first time there and she enjoyed seeing all the exotic creatures.

Today was Donuts with Dad day at Rhiannon’s school. Dad visited her classroom, was presented with some gifts then attended chapel with his first born. A very enjoyable morning.

Today the Georgia families celebrated cousin Jackson’s 5th birthday at his home. The Granger’s put on a nice event complete with food, drink, desserts, games and presents.

Evangeline played her first organized soccer game this morning. She is the only girl on a six-person team and held her own with the other five boys. She likes the sport and mom and dad are hopeful she will take to it.

Rhiannon’s friend Alexa invited her over for a sleepover. The girls stayed up way too late watching movies, playing games, eating snacks and chatting.

Cousin Jackson spent most of the past week at the Clary household while his mom and dad welcomed his new sister, Amalia, into the world. Little sister was born on August 31 and is a welcome addition to the Georgia family.

The Clary family attended a high school football game at Rhiannon’s school. While the girls did watch a few plays, they spent most of the game behind the end zone with friends playing while mom and dad rooted on the home team.

The Georgia families celebrated Auntie Nicole and Cousin Lilia’s birthday today at Auntie Sammie’s house. Food, cake, presents and games were all on the agenda. As usual, everyone had fun enjoying each other’s company.

The Clary family, along with Auntie Sammie, Lilia, Auntie Jessie and her roommate Emily spent the weekend camping at Tugaloo State Park about an hour north of Atlanta. It was the first time the Clary girls had been camping and they had a blast. We cooked over the grill, played at the beach and even went fishing. We ended both nights by the campfire, eating smores and telling ghost stories. A very enjoyable weekend for all who attended.

The Clary family returned to from a week long vacation to Massachusetts where they visited all theire relatives who live there. They stayed with The Letorneau family and had an exceptional time in Boston. They spent time at the beach and played lots of games. Dad also snuck out a few times to play golf with Uncle Chris. Near the end of the trip the Clary's drove out to Cape Cod to spend a couple of days with Aunt Carol and Uncle Doug. They were great hosts and took the everyone to the beach a couple days with was great. We were all sad when we had to leave.

The entire Georgia family spent the day at the Clary house celebrating the 4th of July. Nonna flew in from Maryland to spend time with all her family which made it even more special. Lots of food, fun and games were had and the evening ended with a fireworks display put on my by the men of the family.

The Clary family returned from a week long vacation to the Outer Banks off the North Carolina coast. They stayed in a large house with four other families (10 adults and 11 kids). Everyone had a magnificent time and look forward to doing it again next year.

Rhiannon spent the day learning the routine she will be practicing for as part of her competitive cheer team. Her and roughly 30 other girls are on a team that will compete locally and in the southeast at different cheer competitions.

Today was Fathers Day and the family went out for breakfast to celebrate. Afterwards the girls presented dad with some presents they made and purchased for him. Very special day all around.

Today was "Donuts for Dad" day at Evie's school. Dad of course stopped in to partake in the pastries and getting to spend some time with his youngest.

Today Evie attended her friend KcKinley's birthday "pool" party and big sister got to tag along. The Clary girls love the water and enjoyed themselves immensely.

Rhiannon took a field trip today to the Southeastern Railway Museum where she learned about the history of trains and was able to see historic Pullman cars and classic steam locomotives.

The Georgia families celebrated Rhiannon and cousin Tessa's birthdays today. In the afternoon everyone gathered at the neighborhood pool to swim and converse, then in the evening everyone came back to the Clary house for dinner, dessert and presents.

Rhiannon lost her sixth tooth today. She had some help with this one, as little sister contributed to its dislodging. Enough said.

Today was Rhiannon's last day of second grade. As is tradition, the the lower split all the kids into teams and played games all day. The children very much look forward to this day and much fun was had by all.

Mom and Dad spent the weekend at a lake resort nearby and the girls spent Friday and Saturday nights with their cousins. Rhiannon had a sleepover at Lilia's house and Evie hung out with Jackson at his house.

Today the Georgia Clarys celebrated Rhiannon's 8th birthday. She had a handful of good friends come over after school for a sleepover and the girls were up very late playing games, watching movies and who knows what else behind closed doors.

Evangeline's school observed Mother's Day today with muffins in the classroom. Mom took her school in the morning and mother and daughter both enjoyed the celebration.

Rhiannon celebrated Mother's Day at her school by inviting mom into her classroom for coffee and pastries then the two of them attended chapel on campus. Later in the afternoon Rhiannon performed a song at a piano recital. She did very well.

Evangeline's school held a Spring Carnival today. There were games galore for the kids, a choo choo train, climbing wall, magician, juggler and lots of food. The Clary family all went and enjoyed the event.

Today Rhiannon and her chorus friends sang for an Artists Market on her school's campus. The market is a fundraiser for the school. Mom and dad attended and enjoyed the performance.

Rhiannon and her second grade classmates went on a field trip today to the Tellus Science Museum in Atlanta. The kids had a blast conducting hands-on experiments with light, sound, magnets and more. They also got to sit in a 120-seat digital planetarium and toured an observatory with a state-of-the-art telescope.

Rhiannon and a few of her classmates participated in a talent show at her school today. it was a dance and gymnastics routine that they had rehearsed numerous times. It went off without a hitch and they all did a great job.

The Georgia family celebrated Evie's 4th birthday with a "Super Hero" party at the Clary house. Everyone came dressed as their favorite action hero, enjoying pizza and wings, birthday cake, presents and lots of fun visiting and playing game.

Today was Evangeline's 4th birthday. She celebrated with her family at home with cake and ice cream as well as several presents. According to Evie, it was her "best birthday ever".

The neighborhood hosted it's annual Easter egg hunt. The weather was rainy so things moved indoors but the children enjoyed themselves regardless.

Today was "Grandparents and Special Friends Day" at Rhiannon's school. Her special friends was her sister Evangeline, who got to tour the school as well as attend a chapel service with her big sister and mom.

Rhiannon received her spring report card and she continues to excel in the classroom. According to her teacher, she is a "tenderhearted young lady who values her close friendships and shares kind words with those around her. When finished with her assignments she takes the initiative to help classmates in a way that shows respect, humility and kindness, setting an excellent example for her classmates." Mom and dad are so proud of her.

Evangeline went to her classmate Ryan's birthday party today at a local fun park. Kids enjoyed jumping around in bouncy houses, chasing after each other, dancing to music and eating pizza and birthday cake.

Today was the Living History Museum at Rhiannon's school and she dressed up as Betsy Ross. Rhiannon put together a board with interesting facts about Mrs. Ross as well as memorized a short history of her life. She then recited this to individuals who came to her station to learn about her. It was a wonderful event put on by the school and the effort put into it by the children was awesome.

Today was Wolfie's Arcade at Rhiannon's school. Each classroom in the lower school, grades 1 - 4, designed sophisticated projects having to do with Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM). Each of these projects were then made available in the afternoon for the entire school (and some parents) to interact with. Dad went to the event and was amazed at what elementary school children are doing in the classroom. It was amazing.

Evangeline had her six month checkup at the dentist today. She did excellent and sat very still while the doctor gave her an exam. According to the doctor her teeth look fantastic.

Both Rhiannon and Evangeline celebrated Valentine's birthday today with parties in each of their classrooms. Mom and dad attended Evie's party and enjoyed several dance routines put on by her and her classmates.

The Georgia families celebrated January and February birthdays today at Auntie A's house. Auntie Jessie, Auntie Sammy, Auntie A, Cousin Nia and Uncle Mark were the honored guests. Uncle Tracy made a nice dinner, presents were opened, desserts eaten and games played. The family all enjoyed their time together.

Today was the annual Father - Daughter Sweetheart Dance at Rhiannon's school. Dad and daughter put on their fancy clothes, had dinner at swanky restaurant nearby for dinner then headed for the dance. When they arrived they had their picture taken and enjoyed lots of dancing, games and treats. It was a very enjoyable night for both of them.

Rhiannon and dad went to her school's varsity girls basketball game tonight. It was the first basketball game Rhiannon had attended. A few of her friends were there as well which made it even more eventful for her.

Evangeline attended a birthday party for her friend Holly at a local establishment specializing in bouncy houses. Evie had a great time and ended the event with pizza and cake.

Today Rhiannon received her winter report card. She is doing very well in school and her grades reflect that. Her teacher is very proud of the work she is putting forth int he classroom. So are her parents.
