December 25, 2017
Today was Christmas and the girls were up very early, waking mom and dad to come see what Santa had delivered overnight. The family spent the morning opening gifts and enjoying their time together. Later in the afternoon the entire GA family arrived to celebrate Christmas. More gifts were exchanged and opened and a wonderful meal of beef, chicken and fish was served. Plenty of desserts were also enjoyed, as well as music and games.

The Granger's hosted Christmas Eve dinner for the entire Georgia family. Auntie Nicole and Uncle Mark made dinner and the Aunts and kids all opened gifts then played games.

Nonna and Opa arrived today from Maryland. Today was Nonna's 70th birthday so the entire Georgia family celebrated with dinner at a local restaurant.

Today started the holiday season with the arrival of Gram, cousin Lilia and Aunt Sammy. Gram will be staying with the Clary's during her week long visit.

Today was "Mystery Reader" day in Evangeline's kindergarten class and to her surprise, Mom showed up to read as the surprise reader. Evie was beside herself with excitement and all thoroughly enjoyed the event.

The third cheer competition of the year was held today and Rhiannon’s team came away with the win. This was the State competition and with the win the girls will head to Orlando, FL, in early January to compete in the National event.

Both girls attended birthday parties today, Evangeline for her friend Julia and Rhiannon for her cheer friend, Sarie.

Rhiannon and her cheer team participated in a community service event today. The girls created toiletry bags for dispersion to those in need.

The Grangers and Clarys, along with Auntie Jessie, celebrated Thanksgiving today at the Granger home. Plenty of food an drink were available, along with football and board games.

Evie's class celebrated Thanksgiving a little early with a class party. The children dressed up in their finest Pilgrim attire and sang songs for the parents in attendance.

Aunt Carol and Uncle Doug were in town from Boston this weekend to visit family. Everyone always looks forward to their annual trip to Georgia.

Rhiannon had her second cheer competition of the year, and once again they came up a little short, finishing second to the same YMCA team that beat them a month earlier. Back to the drawing board.

The girls school celebrated Veteran's Day today with singing and dancing. Each class sang their own patriotic song honoring those who had served in the military. Papa's picture in his Army uniform, alongside the girls, was show as part of a larger presentation to the large audience in attendance.

Rhiannon and Evangeline and cousin Jackson, accompanied by mom and dad, joined the girls friend Alexa in her neighborhood to Trick or Treat for Halloween. IT was a late night for all but enjoyed by all.

The Georgia family all gathered at Auntie A's home this evening for Boo Bash, a party to celebrate Halloween. Friends and family enjoyed games, food and lots of scary fun.

Parent teacher conference were held today for both girls and they came away with flying colors. Mom and dad were very proud of their efforts in the classroom.

Today was book character day at the girls school. Rhiannon went dressed a girl in Paris and Evie as, well, Evie from the movie Descendents 2.

Today the Georgia Clarys brought home two new members of the family, Bodhi and Basil, brother and sister tabby cats. A good friend of Rhiannon ahd to remove the cats from their house due to asthma reasons and the Clarys agreed to adopt them. Girls were over the moon with having pets back in the house.

Rhiannon had her first cheer competition of the cheer. Her team finished second to a very good team from the YMCA. Coaches learned a lot about the team and will make modifications for their next competition in November.

Today the Georgia Clarys celebrated Momma's birthday. Daddy made a special dinner for mom and the girls presented her with presents and cards to help celebrate. We ended the evening with cake and singing.

Cousin Bryan and his fiance Jen were in town this weekend. They made a special request of Evangeline to be their flower girl in their June 2018 wedding. Evie was very excited at the invitation and we are all looking forward to the event.

Rhiannon played the part of a UPS driver again today in front of the entire elementary school as part of their weekly chapel activities. She really loves acting and did a wonderful job reciting her lines.

The girls school celebrated fathers day today with "Donuts for Dad". Dad spent 30 minutes in each of their classrooms learning about their day and enjoying gifts made for him. Afterwards both girls accompanied him to Chapel and sat with him through the service. What a special day for all.

The girls school celebrated homecoming today with the annual Home Coming Hoedown. Lower school students spent the evening playing games, eating food and listening to music on the Quad on campus. This was the first year both girls officially celebrated as students and had a great time.

Cousin Jackson celebrated his 6th birthday today and the Georgia family gathered again at the Granger home to celebrate. Theme was "Star Wars" and everyone brought their best outfits, including mom who wore her heir like Princess Leia. Most enjoyable event.

Tropical Storm Irma rolled through north Georgia yesterday and the Clary family lost power for a day. Dad started up the generator, however, and the family had power throughout the event, including TV and internet. The Grangers also lost their power and spent a couple of days at the Clary household until their power returned. Kids school was canceled during the event so everyone stayed home and hunkered down until life in the community returned to normal.

Evangeline's fall soccer season started today and she finds herself once again being the only girl on a five-kid team. That hasn't deterred her in the least, as she is the most experienced on her team and she showed that in the first game, scoring several goals and acting as the veteran she now is. Go Evie!

The Georgia family spent the afternoon at the Granger household celebrating cousin Amelia's 1st birthday. The theme of the party was "Under the Sea" and everyone showed up in their best seafaring outfits. As usual at these type of events, food and drink abounded and all had a great time celebrating the first anniversary of the newest addition to the Georgia clan.

Jackson and Amalia spent the night at the Clary home while the Grangers attended the opening of the Atlanta Falcons new football stadium. Rhiannon spent her day at cheerleading camp and was happy to see her cousins at the house when you arrived in the evening.

The Clary and Granger families attended a high school football game tonight at the girls school. It was nice to have both families together on a wonderful evening.

Today the girls got to see a total eclipse at school. The entire K-12 student body sat in the bleachers at the football field and enjoyed all the festivities surrounding of the event.

Daddy was out of town on a golf trip with his friends so Mom took the girls to the first high school football game of the season. The girls really enjoyed playing behind the endzone with all the other school kids while mom split her time between the game and watching the children.

At school today, all K-12 students attended and All School chapel and as tradition, outgoing evergreen seniors walked in with the incoming Kindergarten class, two at a time. Mom was able to attend and watch her youngest walk in with a senior boy named George.

The girls started their first day of the 2017 school year today. They both go to the same school now and are in the same building. Evangeline is now in Kindergarten and Rhiannon in 4th grade. Mom and dad are happy that now they only have a single location to drop off and pickup kids from now on.

Today was "drop in" day for the Clary girls at school. Each visited their new classrooms and was introduced to their respective teachers. Afterwards each attended a function where they were able to spend time with their new classmates. Evangeline played games in the gym with her new friends and Rhiannon went to a pool party with hers.

The Georgia Clarys spent the past week in Montana visiting their northern relatives. Everyone attended a large Clary family reunion at Gramma and Papa's house which was very enjoyable. The girls also got to spend lots of time with cousin Paige from Alaska who flew down to visit. Everyone stayed at Uncle Mark's house during the visit which was quite enjoyable. It was very hard to leave but all were so happy to spend some good quality time with the Montana and Alaska relatives.

Today was Evangeline's last day at The Goddard School, the daycare she has been attending since she was an infant. Given Rhiannon attended since a baby as well, mom and dad have entrusted this center to watch out for their kids for the past nine years. It was a bittersweet goodbye to this location that has played such a big part in their girls upbringing. Everyone will miss it. Today was also the last day of summer camp for Rhiannon. The girls will now enjoy a week's vacation in Montana before starting school on August 10.

Evangeline's future Kindergarten classmates all got together today for a playdate at a local park. Despite the hot temperatures, the kids enjoyed meeting for the first time and getting to know one another before school starts.

Rhiannon attended her friend Georgia's birthday pool party this afternoon. Afterward, the Grangers, Auntie Jessie and the Clarys held Screen on the Green. Dad made homemade, personal-sized pizzas on his Green Egg and everyone got to decorate their own before it was cooked. After dinner, everyone retired outside under the deck to watch "The BFG" movie projected on a sheet hung from the porch ceiling. The annual tradition was enjoyed by all in attendance.

The Clary family returned today from a week’s vacation in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. They were there with Dad’s golf friend David and his family. Everyone had a great time swimming, talking, playing and doing touristy things while also relaxing by the beach.

Rhiannon was measured at 57 inches tall today which means she no longer needs a booster seat to sit in the car and can now use just the normal seatbelt. It was a major milestone for Rhiannon and she couldn’t have been happier to have reached it.

Mom and dad, along with Uncle Mark and Auntie Nicole, attend an Atlanta Braves baseball game today so the Clary girls went to the Granger home where a babysitter was waiting to watch them while theyr were out.

The Georgia family, as well as Nonna who was in town from Maryland, all came over to the Clary home to celebrate the birthdays of Rhiannon and cousin Tessa. The theme of the vent was the movie “Moana” and island garments and adornment were about. Family enjoyed cake and ice cream as well as good conversation.

Rhiannon and dad spent the long Memorial Day weekend in Minnesota attending cousin Courtney’s high school graduation. Gramma, Papa and Uncle Mark were there as well and it was great seeing them as well as catching up with Auntie Pam, Uncle Darren and cousin Stephanie, as well as meting her new baby Brynley.

Today Evangeline graduated from Pre-K class the school she has been going to since she was born. Her class all wore red cap and gowns and walked down the aisle of a local community center to pomp and circumstance. The children then sang songs for the attendees before being presented with their diplomas. The afternoon ended with a slide show of the kid’s final year at school. Mom, dad and big sister, as well as Auntie Sammie and cousin Lilia, were all there and very proud of her.

Evangeline held a ballet recital today at her school. Along with a number of her friends and classmates, the children danced a number of tap and ballet routines for the parents.

Both girls and dad helped celebrate Mothers Day today with mom. The girls made breakfast in bed, then presented mom with some presents. Later that day dad made dinner for the family.

Today the Georgia Clarys celebrated Rhiannon's 8th birthday. She also had a handful of good friends come over after school the previous day for a sleepover and the girls were up very late playing games, watching movies.

The Georgia family celebrate the Easter holiday at Auntie Jessie’s home. She and her roommate Emily provided plenty of food and drink and the adults visited and played games while the kids watched movies and played.

The neighborhood hosted it's annual Easter egg hunt. The weather was great and the event had the largest turnout ever. With a petting zoo to go along with it, the kids really enjoyed themselves.

Today the Georgia families celebrated Evangeline's 5th birthday at the Clary home The theme of the party was the “Trolls" characters and most were dressed accordingly. Mom had the meal catered. All the kids played hard and of course everyone enjoyed the cake mom made for her daughter.

The second Parent – Teacher conference of the year for Rhiannon was held today and she continues to excel at her studies. The teachers always say it will be a short visit when mom and dad walk in as they don’t have much but good to say about her.

Today Evangeline started her spring season of soccer. This season she is on a different team but has two former teammates with her as well as another girl. So this year she will not be the only female on the team. Cousin Lilia also spent the night with the girls.

Today Rhiannon’s 3rd grade class held a book fair at their school. Dad accompanied her to the library where they purchased several books for her to read as well as donated a book to the school.

The Georgia families got together today at the Misner home to celebrate January/February birthdays. Those being celebrated included cousin Nia, Auntie Sammie, Auntie A, Auntie Jessie and Uncle Mark.

Today was the annual Father - Daughter Sweetheart Dance at Rhiannon's school. Dad and daughter put on their fancy clothes, had dinner at swanky restaurant nearby then headed for the dance. When they arrived, they had their picture taken and enjoyed lots of dancing, games and treats. It was a very enjoyable night for both of them.

Rhiannon’s third grade class put on a play today for their entire school entitled “Thanks and Giving”. Parents also attended and the positive message presented was much appreciated by all in attendance. That evening, Rhiannon accompanied her dad to a varsity girl’s basketball game at her school.

Today Evangeline underwent some academic testing as part of the admissions process for the same school Rhiannon currently attends. Later this year, Mom and Dad are hopeful they hear back from the school that she was accepted.

Rhiannon, mom and dad traveled to Orlando, FL, over the weekend for the competitive cheer national finals event (Evangeline spent the weekend with cousin Jackson). And not only did the girls win their age group, to the dismay of all the parents they came away with the grand champion medal for the entire event. The many months of practice had truly paid off.
