Rhiannon ended her swimming season tonight with a large swim meet that was broadcast over the internet.  She had a great year and learned a lot about herself.  She is a sprinter and not a “long hauler” and is really looking forward to joining her neighborhood swim team this summer and getting back into the water at school next season.

Found out today that Evie was exposed to a classmate at school who was diagnosed with Covid-19, so she is required to quarantine for 14 days starting today and will finish winter break attending class “virtually”.

This weekend was Evie’s last soccer tournament of the fall season and they ended it in style by winning the season ending tournament, outscoring their opponents 45-6.  As usual, Evie play defense but was called on to take a penalty kick and scored!  This is the second year in a row their team has won this tournament.  The parents are so proud of the girls and the leaps they have made sine the beginning of the season.  Can’t wait for February to arrive for the spring season to begin.

Dad measured the height of his girls today.  Rhiannon is officially 5' 5" tall (three inches taller than her mom) and Evie is 4' 5" tall.

The Granger family came over to the Clary household today to celebrate Thanksgiving.  Dad smoked a turkey on the Big Green Egg and dinner had all the usual fixings.  Of course, football was on throughout the day and game were played well into the evening.

The Clarys dropped over to the Grangers to celebrate “skinny” Halloween this evening.  Kids all dressed up and trick or treaters were out, but candy was given at a distance.

Evie’s first parent tach conference of the year was today, and it went very well.  Mom and Dad her happy to hear the good report.  Later that afternoon, Evie attender for soccer teammate Sydney’s birthday party at a nearby park.

The Grangers dropped by today to help celebrate mom’s birthday.  It was a beautiful day, dad grilled, and everyone enjoyed cake and presents afterwards.

The Georgia family celebrated Labor Day at Auntie Jessies house.  She recently bought a new above ground pool that dad helped install and everyone enjoyed time socializing, swimming and eating.

Today was the first day of in-person school since early March.  Lots of precautions were put in place at the school, and although everyone was a little apprehensive at first, we all knew what had to be done to stay safe and we were ready to get it done.

Evie started soccer practice today.  She was so excited to get back to the sport she loves and couldn’t wait to see her teammates after a long break due to Covid.

Rhiannon and mom flew to Portland, OR, to visit Auntie Sammie and Cousin Lilia.  Mom flew back after a few days and Rhiannon spent another week with her best friend before Sammie and Lilia flew back to Georgia with her for more family time.

Rhiannon spent the week with her friend Katelin and her family at Tybee Island, Georgia.  It was a nice, safe summer getaway for Rhiannon, who needed the time out of the hose.

Today Dad’s girls and mom celebrated Father’s Day, Covid-style.  Breakfast was catered in, followed by presents and cake.  Though it was lower key than other years, dad still enjoyed the time with his family.

Rhiannon and her friends Tara and Aida had a “social distanced” sleepover at their friend Carly’s house.  It was nice for the girls to spend some actual time together while also being respectful of the Covid situation.

Today was Gram’s 95th birthday and her entire family, from across the country, celebrated her with a virtual party.

Cousin Tessa graduated “virtually” today. Mom made the trip to the Misner’s to celebrate at a “social distance, while the remainder of the Clary family watched the event live on YouTube.

Today was the last day of school for the year.  Virtual school, while initially exciting, got old fast and the girls were happy to see the year come to an end.

The Georgia family celebrated Rhiannon’s birthday today with a “social distance” party in the backyard.  Folks were spaced out and masked up, as needed.  Everyone really enjoyed their time together.

Rhiannon celebrated her 12th birthday today and mom and dad surprised her with her first iPhone.  She was SOOOOO excited.  It was also the first day she could ride in the front seat of mom or dad’s car.  Our little girl is growing up fast.

Under the Covid lockdown, Evie was surprised today by all her Georgia family with a birthday drive-by.  Grangers, Magazus and Misners all came by, honking horns, waving signs and delivering presents.  Couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate in these unprecedented times.

Both girls started “virtual” school today.  Because of the concerns over Covid-19, the school determined this was the best route for the remainder of the year.

The Clarys and Grangers were originally scheduled to spend Spring Break in Mexico, but given the emerging concerns over Covid-19, they decided to cancel the trip, stay in country and fly to Miami Beach to stay at a Ritz property, courtesy of Auntie Nicki.  Even with all the concerns over the virus, everyone was very careful and enjoyed a week of fun in the sun.

Evie usually plays defense on her soccer team, but today the coach moved her up to forward and it wasn’t long before she scored her first goal of the season!  Way to go(al), Evie!

Today was the final Parent-Teacher conference of the year for Evie and her teach gave her glowing reviews. Kind, thoughtful and respectful were just a few of the words that were shared about Evie.  Her parents are so proud.

Today second graders took part at school in the Living History Museum, where each student dresses up as a famous American and shares with bystanders facts and stories about that person.  Evie picked Susan B Anthony to dress up as, a strong and resourceful woman, just like Evie.

Rhiannon’s friends Tara and Aida had a sleepover last night and wouldn’t you know it, it just happened to SNOW today!  All the girls spent time outside making snowmen and sledding down the hill.  Given it snows only once or twice each season, everyone made sure to take advantage of the time outside.

Tonight, Dad accompanied his date Evie to her 3rd Daddy-Daughter dance.  The night started out with dinner at a fancy restaurant, followed shortly thereafter by pictures, dancing and lots and lots of desserts.  Always a highlight, the annual event is something the girls (and Dad) look forward to each year.

Today the Clary’s hosted a Super Bowl party and welcomed the Granger family over for the big event.  Dad manned the Big Green Egg and Auntie Nicki made her famous chicken wings.

Today was Rhiannon’s last basketball game of the season.  Though they didn’t win many games, the girls certainly learned a lot about teamwork and focus.  Later in the evening, the Clarys were joined by Rhiannon’s friend Katelin at a Bingo party at the neighborhood clubhouse.

Rhiannon went to the orthodontist today to get braces.  She was finally old enough and it was time to start the straightening and alignment process.

Evie and her basketball team were treated this afternoon to a Harlem Globetrotters game by their coach.  The girls had an unbelievable time watching and participating in the on-court antics.
